Volunteer: Women Build Committee

A program of Habitat for Humanity International, Women Build enables women to help eliminate poverty housing by building homes and communities. Through Women Build, women volunteers and homeowners gain the confidence and skills to lay bricks, pound nails, raise walls and create hope. Evergreen Habitat built its first Women Build home in 2012 and completed their second home in the summer of 2017. Women Build is a great way for women to have fun, help a family, and make a difference in a hands-on way. You’ll get to meet the family you are helping face-to-face. You can spend time with friends and colleagues, and make new friends while you work on the house. Plus you’ll learn construction skills you can use in your own home.

Women Build also raises funds to build homes for hard-working families in need by hosting fundraisers, such as the Women Build Holiday Luncheon or the Women Build Bingo Night. The Women Build Committee consists of community-minded women who want to make a difference here in Vancouver-construction skills are not necessary!

The committee meets monthly on every third Wednesday. Guests and/or new members are always welcome!
