What you can expect to work on:

Our Community Engagement and Outreach Volunteers help answer questions and share the Evergreen Habitat mission with the community at Habitat for Humanity events, community events, and volunteer recruitment fairs.

We bring people together to build strength, stability, and independence through shelter. We are working toward a world where everyone has a decent, affordable place to live. Your role is to help spread the word about the important mission of Habitat.

Position Duties Include:

• Participate in, attend, and table information booths at community events and local networking events
• Help build relationships and partnerships with the community
• Stay up-to-date on the variety of events and volunteer opportunities at Habitat
• May be asked to set up booth (table, chairs, handouts) or assist other volunteers and staff with set up or tear down of events
• Answer questions and provide hand outs regarding volunteering with Evergreen Habitat and affordable homeownership programs
• Help post Evergreen Habitat flyers around the community

Skills and Requirements:

• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Willingness to learn about Evergreen Habitat programs, events, and volunteering
• Volunteers can lead outreach booths without staff presence, but must first complete an orientation to learn more about Evergreen Habitat. This can be done before or during your first outreach event. 
• Experience volunteering with us in another capacity is a plus
  • A tour of the store or a build site can be provided if you would like
• Sensitivity to socioeconomic and cultural diversity
• Passionate about the mission and work of Habitat for Humanity
• Fluency in more than one language is a plus

For court-ordered community service, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator at volunteer@ehfh.org or 360-737-1759. (We are unable to host volunteers with a history of certain types of offenses, including theft or violence).
