Description

We are working to clean up a bioswale at one of our Habitat home developments, Tenny Commons. This project will include brush removal, cutting back blackberries, mowing, and reseeding a bioswale area in the neighborhood. All the tools and safety gear you need for the day is provided and no previous experience is necessary.

Time Commitment:  8:30am-3:00pm

Location: There is no parking available at the site so we will meet at Three Creeks Community Library in Salmon Creek (near the Fred Meyer) and walk over together.

Address: 800 NE Tenny Road, Vancouver, WA 98685

Minimum age: All volunteers must be 16 years of age or older to volunteer. Any volunteers under the age of 18 need to have a waiver signed by their parent/guardian and are not permitted to use power tools.

Clothing: Volunteers must wear sturdy, closed-toed shoes. Volunteers should wear comfortable clothing that they don't mind getting dirty. Dress appropriately for the weather and keep in mind that this will be an entirely outdoor project.

Lunch is not provided: please bring a packed lunch, water, and any snacks you may want for the day. There are plenty of restaurants and fast food establishment near by if you prefer to eat your lunch off site. We break at noon for about 30-45 minutes.

We strive for a culture where people of every race, ethnicity, nationality, economic status, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, size, and disability are welcomed, empowered, and celebrated.
