This will be a bit different than our usual outreach event. The event will be more akin to speed dating, but for folks interested in volunteering with various non profits in the area. We will have 3-5 potential volunteers at our booth for 6-8 minutes to connect about our mission and opportunities, then the bell will ring and they will move on to the next booth. Having one other person to assist me will be incredibly helpful.
Volunteer responsibilities:
- Share Habitat's mission with the community, answer questions about volunteering, our homeownership program, etc.
- Represent Evergreen Habitat for Humanity with a positive attitude
Time commitment:
- Please arrive by 3:30.
- I recommend arriving early to find parking, as there is construction in the area at the moment, as detailed below.
- Event is from 4-6:30 pm on Tuesday, April 23.
Location:
- Ripple Space in the Hurley Building, 275 West 3rd St., Suite 400, downtown Vancouver.
- Building construction is taking place at the northeast corner of Columbia and W 4th St.
- Turn east from Columbia onto West 4th St – immediately south of the new building. Construction fencing will be on your left after you turn.
- Proceed 250 ft with the fence on your left, until the only way to go is a right turn onto Washington St. (Washington St. is otherwise currently detoured for construction.)
- Go a very short distance to the next right turn onto West 3rd St. The Hurley Building will be on your left.
- Street parking is available in the area. Paid parking garage on northeast corner of Columbia and 6th. (Kitty-corner from the Hilton.)
